This role is for an experienced Shopify engineer who has already worked on a high-volume production app and is comfortable owning work end to end.
It is not a learning role. We are not onboarding someone into Shopify app development.
We actively use Cursor and other AI-assisted dev tools to increase speed and quality. Anyone joining the team is expected to be comfortable using AI to think, build, test, and iterate faster.
Flare is the leading Shopify Plus delivery date and shipping system, used by 700+ brands worldwide and processing millions of dollars in orders every month across hundreds of thousands of checkouts.
We’re a small and fast-moving team building critical infrastructure for merchants where delivery rules, cutoffs, and fulfilment logic actually matter. The product is established, growing quickly, and trusted by brands that feel pain immediately when things break.
You’ll be shipping changes that impact real checkouts and real operations at scale. Our customer base includes well-known Shopify Plus brands such as Rebel Cheese, Emma Bridgewater, Côte Brasserie, Silver Oak, Clearwater Seafoods, and The Fat Butcher.
You’ll work directly with the founders (CTO and CEO), both of whom have multiple years of experience building and scaling high-growth startups.
While this is an independent, execution-driven role, you’ll have direct access to how we think about product, architecture, and trade-offs at scale.
